The ‘Mignon’ birdhouse is specially designed for birds such as the little robin and the spotted flycatcher, which prefer to nest in crevices in walls or trees or under hedges. This birdhouse is not only decorative; it also helps birds that can no longer easily find natural places to build their nests.
Thanks to its large opening, this nest box is ideal for robins, spotted flycatchers and other semi-cavity-nesting birds that prefer semi-open nest boxes.
These birds usually nest in cavities in walls or trees or under hedges. However, like many other species, they are increasingly struggling to find natural nesting sites. Hang the nest box between 1.5 m and 2.5 m (5 to 8 feet) above the ground, slightly sheltered by shrubs or climbing plants.
Cleaning is carried out through the entrance opening.
The nest box is made from French Douglas fir for the roof and French spruce for the body. The wood has a thickness of 15 mm. This thickness, combined with the extended roof overhang, effectively protects young birds from bad weather.
These woods, naturally rot-resistant, withstand time, insects, and weather without any treatment. They require no additional products.
The wood is slowly air-dried: no deformation and no extra energy consumption from artificial drying.
