This charming ‘Sunny’ birdhouse welcomes the great tit, the nuthatch and House Sparrow. It can safely shelter a family of 5 to 10 birds. Made from Douglas fir and spruce, it naturally withstands bad weather without any treatment. Mounted on a wall or tree, this birdhouse is not only decorative; it also helps birds that can no longer easily find natural places to build their nests.
Did you know that a brood consumes around 500 insects and caterpillars per day !
With a 34 mm entrance hole, this 'Sunny' birdhouse is ideal for the Great tit, the Nuthatch and the House Sparrow.
The entrance is protected by a metal sun-shaped plate that prevents predators from enlarging the opening to reach the chicks (such as woodpeckers or martens).
The thickness of the wood and the extended roof effectively protect young birds from bad weather. On both sides, ventilation openings are provided, along with a side access panel that allows the birdhouse to be cleaned after winter.
The roof is made from French Douglas fir and the body from French spruce. The wood is 15 mm thick.
Roof: French PEFC-certified Douglas fir
Body: French PEFC-certified spruce
Hanger: stainless galvanized steel
Sun plate: black metal with epoxy paint (weather-resistant)
These woods, naturally rot-resistant, withstand time, insects, and weather without any treatment. They require no additional products.
The wood is slowly air-dried: no deformation and no extra energy consumption from artificial drying.
A birdhouse helps compensate for the lack of natural nesting sites such as hollow trees or old walls.
In spring, birds build their nests inside. In winter, they use it as shelter from the cold.
A brood consumes around 500 insects and caterpillars per day!
